چکیده

This study evaluates the distal femur morphology of Thai population using a three-dimensional (3D) measurement method, measuring distance between triangular point femoral 3D model. The model 360 obtained from 180 volunteers (90 males, 90 females; range 20–50 years, average 32.8 years) was created reverse engineering techniques computed tomography imaging data. Using identified landmark morphometric parameters evaluated included transepicondylar axis length (TEA), mediolateral (ML), anteroposterior width (AP), medial (MAP), lateral (LAP), condyle (MCW), (LCW), intercondylar notch (WIN), depth (DIN), posterior height (MPC), (LPC), aspect ratio (ML/AP), (ML/LAP), and (ML/MAP). measured data were summarized for analysis an value standard deviation. Statistical performed independent samples t-test, unequal variances linear regression. A p-value less than 0.05 (<0.05) regarded as statistically significant indicates strong evidence hypothesis. Additionally, K-means clustering to optimum size prosthesis with correlation ML AP performed. results found that male significantly different higher those females, except ML/AP ML/MAP. Comparatively, there difference specific Korean population, which also smaller Caucasians. In addition, mismatch component sizing knee what is available commonly used in Thailand. At least six sizes and/or should be recommended reasonable design covering anatomy Thais. These are useful predicting forensic anthropology provide basic prostheses suitable population.

Three-dimensional reconstruction of New Zealand rabbit antebrachium by multidetector computed tomography

The aim of this study was to reveal biometric peculiarities of New Zealand white rabbit antebrachium (radius and ulna) by means of three-dimensional (3D) reconstruction of multidetector computed tomography (MDCT) images. Under general anesthesia, the antebrachiums of a total of sixteen rabbits of both sexes were scanned with a general diagnostic MDCT. Biometric measurements of the reconstructed...

Three-dimensional morphometric ontogeny of mollusc shells by micro-computed tomography and geometric analysis

As one of the essential components of the fossil record, shells of molluscs provide crucial data for taxonomic, phylogenetic or evolutionary studies. The mollusc shell has often very few discrete morphological characters, and its most important character is its three-dimensional (3-D) geometry, which is well diversified, continuous and highly integrated. However, standard morphometric methods r...

Three-dimensional imaging and morphometric analysis of alveolar tissue from microfocal X-ray-computed tomography.

We evaluated microfocal X-ray-computed tomography (micro-CT) as a method to visualize lung architecture two and three dimensionally and to obtain morphometric data. Inflated porcine lungs were fixed by formaldehyde ventilation. Tissue samples (8-mm diameter, 10-mm height) were stained with osmium tetroxide, and 400 projection images (1,024 x 1,024 pixel) were obtained. Continuous isometric micr...

Three-dimensional Reconstruction of Serial Industrial Computed Tomography Images

The three-dimensional(3-d) reconstruction and visualization of serials of industrial computed tomography(ICT) images is an important research aspect for large objects nondestructive detection. In the course of 3-d reconstructions of the continuous equidistant ICT images, the contour lines of every tomogram are picked out and joint by triangles in serialized order. After the stereo images of the...

Methods to evaluate the performance of kilovoltage cone-beam computed tomography in the three-dimensional reconstruction space

Background: Cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) scanners for image-guided radiotherapy are in clinical use today, but there has been no consensus on uniform acceptance to verify the CBCT image quality yet. The present work proposed new methods to fully evaluate the performance of CBCT in its three-dimensional (3D) reconstruction space. Materials and Methods: Compared to the traditional methods...
